The Spanish brand Smart Materials is recognized for the excellent quality in the manufacture of 3D printing materials. It offers easy to print ABS coils and is the most used thermoplastics.
Characteristics of ABS filaments Smart Materials
The ABS filament is acrilonitrilo butadieno estireno, a fairly common thermoplastic polymer with good resistance at low temperatures and weight light. Used in the appliances sector, it is also found in boat hulls, decoration or toys (the LEGO are made by ABS).
This material has good rigidity, high impact resistance and lightness and is also very affordable. It has also been a popular material during the last few years in the print market by molten deposition. Together with the PLA, both materials are more easy to print other technical and low-cost thermoplastics.
Offers surfaces smooth and brilliant and can be chemically sold with acetone. It has a melting temperature of about 200 °C and you need a heated bed (between 80 and 100 °C) being preferable a closed camera 3D printer.
