Smartfil FC PET filament
The Spanish brand Smart Materials is recognized for its excellent quality in the manufacture of 3D printing materials. The coils stand out for their great versatility, easy handling, high resistance and properties. Its Innovatefil line has filaments specially designed for the most demanding applications. This range provides a solution to the particularities required by the sector for high performance products and high yields through additive manufacturing.
Main characteristics of PET FC filament Smart Materials
PET is polyethylene terephthalate and one of the most widely used materials in food packaging such as bottles. The incorporation of carbon fiber increases the mechanical and thermal properties. It achieves greater stability and is easy to print
It has high chemical resistance and low moisture absorption. Even so, it is recommended a good storage and care of the material. Once unpacked, it is recommended to keep it in a dry and dark place.
It is black and the printing temperature ranges between 260 - 280º C, with a bed temperature of 0 to 60º C and a printing speed of 30 - 50 mm/s.
Recommendations for use with PET FC de Smart Materials
This material requires demanding printing conditions, depending on the printer it may require an extruder capable of reaching 270 °C, make sure your printer has the capacity to print it.
It is also advisable to dry the material before using it in a 3D printer. Once printing is complete, it is necessary to clean the nozzle by removing excess material to avoid clogging and unwanted defects. If several materials are used, it is advisable to have a nozzle for each material to avoid being mixed.
Carbon fiber makes this filament very abrasive so it is necessary to use hardened steel nozzles or similar to print, to avoid premature wear of the components. It is recommended to use nozzles of 0.6 mm diameter and print layer height of 0.2 mm or higher.
