ABS Medical filament characteristics of Smart Materials
ABS filament is acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, a fairly common thermoplastic polymer with good low temperature resistance and light weight. This fireproof ABS has been specially developed to protect electrical circuits or any element with fire risk.
This material has good rigidity, high impact resistance and light weight and is also very affordable. It has also been a popular material in recent years in the fused deposition printing market. Together with PLA, both materials are easier to print than other technical and low-cost thermoplastics.
Self-extinguishing flame retardant ABS, tested under UL94 conditions, opting for the V-1 category for thicknesses of 1.5 mm and V-0 for thicknesses above 2.1 mm. They are capable of self-extinguishing the flame in less than 10 seconds without producing plastic dripping.
The 3D printing temperature is 205-235º C.
