    Characteristics of ABS Medical filament from Smart Materials

    ABS filament is acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, a fairly common thermoplastic polymer that has good low temperature resistance and light weight. This ABS Medical has been specially developed to be compatible with the human body and therefore the filament is biocompatible making it ideal for medical applications.

    This material has good stiffness, high impact strength and light weight and is also very affordable. It has also been a popular material in recent years in the fused deposition printing market. Together with PLA, both materials are easier to print than other technical and low-cost thermoplastics.
